Halloween

Theo was Donatello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for Halloween.

Nine month photo shoot

My good friend, Lindsey, took our photos in the fall, when Theo was 9 1/2 months old. It was right before his top two teeth came in. If you look closely you can see them about to pop through.

Month Eight

Somehow, I can't find any photos from Theo's seventh month of life. So let's skip that month and hop straight to month eight, shall we?

Dinkin' around with Auntie Kimmy's Disney Mouse ears in her dorm

I asked Theo to pose in the front yard by our beautiful tire for an end-of-summer photo shoot.

Then he started eating all the grass.

This is Theo at two months old in March 2014. It was still snowy and freezing outside! But he was becoming happier and more expressive.

Theo at birth

One of main goals of this blog, as i mentioned in the previous post, is to document the highlights of my son's life up to this point, and then regularly hereafter.

So photo number one is his first day of life:)

8 lbs. 6 oz.

Can't believe that was what he looked like back then, but so cool that this is the precious person who had been growing from a tiny speck to a beautiful, soft, huggable body inside of me. Such a marvelous concept!

Ok here are a few more from the first days of his life...

What a sweetie...I love seeing him so fresh and new and remembering the novelty of him being in our family! :)

Well that's all for now. I think I'll post his monthly photos from here on until we get up to date.

Blogging....Take 2

Yay! I'm sitting down to start a blog. My husband and I started a blog years ago and after several months it just fell flat. But here's to "blogging...take 2". There are a number of motivations for me to blog (and hesitations, but those are outnumbered by motivations). Here are some:

  • Let distant family in on our lives as a family unit in Minneapolis
  • Let distant friends in on our lives...
  • Update folks on the rapid development of our 7 month old boy
  • Create an archive for all the milestones and memories our son is making
As I mentioned above, I've been hesitant to start a blog. For a lot of reasons. But the primary one is that I don't think I'd be consistent enough to be a blogger. I really try to avoid starting things if I don't think I can complete/succeed in/handle it. This has turned me off from blogging the past few years.

However, now that we have a child I have a strong desire for my family to know him, enjoy him, and love him even though we live thousands of miles apart. Texting photos works fairly well, but I think blogging yields more fruit. All the photos are organized on one website, readily available for EVERYONE, and even I can go back and remember what I posted and when. And since my desires for family connection are stronger now that I'm a mom, I'm hoping I can be disciplined to be somewhat consistent in posting.

That said, I think it would help me if I stated some disclaimers...for giving myself grace in blogging.

  • My goal is to post 1+ picture once a month (my goal needs to be attainable, people,...I think I can manage one a month...gotta start small and go from there:)
  • I don't NEED to provide a long explanation of the photo, but a caption would be nice.
  • You guys don't really care about my grammar or if i use all lower-case, right?
  • if all my photos are of Theodore that's totally acceptable because I'm a mommy now:)
Cool,
We got all that out on the table. I'm ready to blog!!!

Ok first photo post is coming soon...
